Welcome to the Women Attorneys Association of Topeka
Welcome to the homepage of Women Attorneys Association of Topeka, Inc., a nonprofit organization devoted to the encouragement and advancement of women in the legal professions. The primary objectives of our new website is to provide a forum for the exchange of knowledge and experiences of women attorneys in our community; to promote the elimination of discrimination against women attorneys; to encourage and assist the professional development of women attorneys; to strengthen the image of women attorneys; to promote active participation in Bar organizations; and to assist women during the process of acquiring a legal education and entering a professional career.
Our membership brings a wealth of experience to share with one another. Members of WAAT work in diverse settings including the judiciary, private practice, public interest organizations and corporate organizations. This gives members an informal opportunity for the exchange of information and networking. In addition, the organization engages in a variety of programs and activities designed to promote fellowship and to advance its mission.

OUR PURPOSE
The purpose of this Association shall be as follows:
- To promote the efficient administration of justice and the constant improvement of the law, especially the advancement, education and support of women in the legal professions;
- To encourage the participation of women in professional and bar organizations, particularly at the committee and officer level;
- To promote equality and social justice for all people;
- To promote relations between the legal profession and the public; and
- To provide women attorneys with a supportive environment to network professionally.
